TECHNO, a Class of electronic dance music that came forth in Detroit, Michigan, USA during the mid to later 1980s. The 1st world use of the word techno, in relation to a genre of music, was in 1988. Many styles of techno now subsist, but Detroit techno is seen as the foundation upon which an amount of subgenres have been assembled. |
